29/05/2014

SEACAT Volunteer

In working with industry and industry bodies, BEEMS provided a formal written response in May 2014 to The G9 Offshore Wind Health and Safety Association (G9 work to promote and maintain the highest possible standards of health and safety throughout the life cycle of offshore wind farms) consultation on health and safety training standards : three Good Practice Guidelines aimed at reducing the risks in the offshore wind industry.
The three primary risk areas identified were:
-    Working at height
-    Lifting operations
-    Marine vessel operations
Our response was to reinforce our support of common standards in health and safety and comment in relation to the marine vessel operations as briefed by our BEEMS partner Warsash Maritime Academy.
